RESTLESS IN PARADISE / Rastløs i Paradis by Olavi Linna

Happiness. Can it exist anywhere?
We are in Solf, a small country village in Western Finland. A place where everything stands still and has stagnant in its own peculiar way. It is a village where the church is half empty on Sundays, a village with an astoundingly low suicide rate and where the seasons change with touching predictability. A place that was officially voted "the most perfect village in Finland 2006", which has in a way made its inhabitants stop dreaming themselves to a better place. So why leave this paradise?

The director grew up in this village together with his mother and younger brother. Both brothers decided at a young age to moved away from home. But now after having lived and loved around Europe for the past 10 years, Kyösti, the younger brother, has decided to move home to find some form of tranquility and a place to be.
Kyösti meets up with his old friend Stoggi, who has never left the village, despite having cycled the equivalent of 4 times around the Equator on his exercise bike.

The director question whether it'll be possible for Kyösti to find happiness at home after having experienced life around Europe.
Restless in Paradise is a film about dreams, finding oneself and moving back home to a life left behind.
